Beginnings

This idea has been brewing here in Vermont for years, and recently several solar cooperative projects have come online with great success.  I have been inspired by them, and also by the local folks who are so eager to go solar, but can't find a way to make it work. The time is ripe and our work organizing the cooperative has already begun. We have a plan to move from concept to commissioning this year. We have three good local sites that would be happy to host our little one acre solar farm. And we have a lot of interested people, some of whom felt a bit left behind by the Solarize program that ran in Randolph, Braintree and Brookfield. Forty-one families signed on, but many more who were interested did not.  The Randolph Solar Cooperative has been founded to help those folks and others go solar. Membership is open to all within Green Mountain Power's service area, but we are primarily a local group.

First Meeting for Randolph Community Solar Project

We have a few people on board, and a few good sites surveyed, and a plan to get things started. Next week we will have our first open meeting at the Lyon's Den in Randolph, VT.

Come join us at 6:30pm on Monday, March 30.

We will go through some of the information presented on this website and discuss the plan for the solar project in detail.
